  Frequently Asked Questions

Regarding hourly one time cleanings, or first time cleanings.

All one time, or first time cleanings are charged at an hourly rate.  We can not guarantee what can be completed in the time frame provided.  All quotes are based on AVERAGE CONDITION.  Meaning, there's no excessive build up, scrubbing, hard water stains, clutter, etc.  We assume no liability, or responsibility for what can, or can not be completed.  Houses vary extremely in condition. 

One house may just be a simple "wipe down" type of clean.  Another house may require intense, deep cleaning. We ask for complete honesty in your assessment of the current  condition, in order for us to give an accurate and fair estimate.


Are you licensed?

Yes we are.  We maintain current business licenses, covering all of our service areas.

Do You Carry Insurance For Damage? ^

Yes we do. While every effort is made to use great care in your home, sometimes accidents do happen. Our housekeepers are trained to immediately notify our office (and you) if something is broken or damaged so that we can handle the situation as soon as possible. If we should break or damage something, we will make every effort to have the item repaired or if necessary it will be replaced. We limit our loss to the replacement value, repair cost, or $1,000, whichever is less. Items excluded from liability are: cash, jewelry, one-of-a-kind items or hard to get items, items of sentimental value, art, antiques, and electronics.

Do You Check The Backgrounds Of Your Cleaning Associates? ^

Yes we do, in fact we will not even consider the recruitment of a new cleaning associate unless they have a minimum of 4 verifiable references and a stable previous work history. House cleaners must be bondable, which means no felony convictions. We also do random drug testing.

Do You Send Teams Of People In To Clean My House? ^

No, under normal circumstances we will send one, or two, experienced housekeepers to clean your home. Depending on scheduling, the size of your home, and your preference.


Do We Have To Sign A Contract? ^

No, there are no complicated contracts. The only thing we ask is, if you must cancel a regularly scheduled appointment, that you do it at least 48 hours in advance.

Do You Send The Same Person Every Time My Home Is Cleaned? ^

We always try and send the same cleaning associate, as long as you are happy with them.  All of the housekeepers provide the same consistent service to every customer, so you should feel like you are receiving the same quality service no matter who the housekeeper is. However, if you would like to make a change, please do not hesitate to ask.

What Time Will The Maid Be At My Home? ^

We normally work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Afternoon appointments do vary with arrival times.   Arrival times are approximate.  Please allow a one hour window for arrival.

Do You Provide The Cleaning Supplies Or Do We? ^

Our cleaning associates will bring all the necessary general cleaning supplies, and equipment required to clean your home. And Yes!  It's included in our standard pricing. However, if there is something of yours that you would like us to use, we can do that too. (i.e. vacuum, special cleaner, etc). Please note: if you are going to provide the supplies, and/or equipment, we are not liable for any damage caused by your cleaning supplies and/or equipment.

How Do You Get In My House If I Am Not At Home? ^

Most of our customers are not at home when we come to clean. We will make personal and confidential arrangements with you on how to gain access to the house. If we are unable to gain access to your house for a regularly scheduled cleaning, we must charge you a fee of $25 to compensate the housekeeper for their loss of time and driving expenses.

Do I Have To Do Anything Before The Housekeeper Arrives? ^

In order for the housekeeper to do their job, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys and other household items. The housekeeper will not know where your personal items belong and we prefer that they not go into your closets or drawers to put things away.

What If My Cleaning Is Scheduled On A Holiday? ^

We will contact you to reschedule your appointment.

What If I Need To Reschedule An Appointment? ^

Please call our office at least 48 hours in advance.

How Should I Pay For The Service? ^

We accept Cash, Checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.  All payments are due on or before the day of cleaning.  $25.00 fee on returned checks.

Why Does The First Time Cleaning Cost More? ^

It usually takes us longer to clean the house the first time because there are areas of the home that we will be cleaning that haven't been cleaned in quite a while. We only charge extra if extra time will be required

What About My Pets? ^

We love animals, but sometimes they don't love us. If you think your pet may become overly anxious while we are there, please make temporary arrangements (such as the garage, a kennel, or a closed off room) while we are in your home.

Are your maids Independent Domestic Workers or Employees? ^

MaidTime is a housekeeping personnel service. We search for the best independent housekeeping professionals in the industry! We provide property damage insurance and bonding for each house cleaning.

Referral Fee

Maid Time invests in the recruitment of the best cleaning associates we can find. Our cleaning associates are so great, that occasionally people ask if they can hire them directly. If you wish to hire a present or past Maid Time cleaning associate, our referral fee is $2,500. This fee is due within 30 days of notification from Maid Time. If the fee is not paid, Maid Time reserves the right to pursue other methods of collection.
